Vision Statement
for Mission Charlottesville
It is the vision of a missional church led by a six-fold equipping ministry team comprised of individuals gifted by the Holy Spirit to serve as apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, teacher and preacher (Ephesians 4:11 & II Timothy 1:11).
It is the vision of a missional church, that in the context of its local mission field, makes the Good News of the Lord Jesus Christ and the kingdom of God fully known by word, deeds and signs and wonders in the power of the Holy Spirit to the end of making sold-out disciples (Romans 15: 18-19 & Matthew 28:18-20).
It is the vision of a missional church to help plant other missional churches led by a six-fold equipping ministry teams.
It is the vision of a missional church to be on mission with God locally, nationally and internationally (Acts of the Apostles 1:8).
It is the vision of a missional church that strives to be a 50/50 church (50% percent of finances used for internal needs and 50 % of finances used for external missions locally, nationally and internationally).
It is the vision of a missional church, that for theological guidance, holds to the Holy Scriptures, the Articles of Religion of the Methodist Church, the Confession of Faith of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, the General Rules of the Methodist Societies, John Wesley’s Standard Sermons, John Wesley’s Explanatory Notes on the New Testament and the Nicene Creed.
It is the vision of a missional church that lives faithfully in covenant with the Global Methodist Church for vital connectionalism, to bear witness to the unity of the body of Christ and to give expression to the reality of the one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
